After the children were being reached, the idea to reach the young men, pimps, and drug dealers came to mind. They are too young to go to Kids Club, so how can they be reached? Then the idea came to Don Brewster, the director of AGAPE. It was decided that a gym would be built to reach the men of Svay Pak!
The gym has truly been an answered prayer. It has attracted men from all over the community, especially the young men. Workouts begin with a devotion, followed by a corporate teaching of one exercise. Different techniques have been taught and the men have learned several weight lifting exercises. The gym in Svay Pak has been a great vessel to reach the men in their setting and their community. God is working in the hearts of these men through His Word and Truth.
The Lord’s Gym was started as an outreach to the young men in the community. Many of the teenage boys are involved in the trafficking process in various ways. Some of them are in charge of retrieving the girls and bringing them to the buyers. This gives them something to do in a positive environment, which is the goal of the gym, in hopes that they will be influenced to choose not to be involved in the trafficking process.
